What Three Stone Roofing LLC ("Three Stone", "we", "us") keeps when you visit threestone.com or ask for an estimate, and who else sees it.

The estimate form

The form asks for your first and last name, phone, email and city and the service you need, and, if you like, the property’s address, state and ZIP code, how you heard about us and a few words about the project. When you send it, the site saves your answers in its own database on Cloudflare, with the page you sent it from and the country your connection is in. Then it emails them through Cloudflare’s email service to our office and to the marketing company that runs our advertising and books our appointments, so either can call you back. It’s ordinary email, so leave anything sensitive, like a Social Security or card number, out of it. We use what you send to contact you about your estimate or inspection and to do the work.

Our own record of visits

Each time a page loads, the site notes it on Cloudflare’s servers before anything runs in your browser: the page, the site, search or ad that brought you, your device and browser, and the town, state and country your connection is in and its internet provider, as Cloudflare estimates them. It doesn’t store your IP address or anything with your name on it. It also notes when someone taps the phone number or the email address, opens directions or sends the form, with the browser’s language and time zone and the same rough location, down to the ZIP code, and how many seconds each page stays open.

Visits from outside the United States are turned away, and the country Cloudflare reports for your connection is what decides it.

Cookies

The site sets one cookie of its own, ts_src, on the first page of a visit. It remembers how the visit began (the site, search or ad that sent you, the page you landed on, the kind of device and the time) so a call or a request can be traced back to it. It holds no identifier and is gone when you close your browser.

The tags below set their own: Google Analytics sets _ga and _ga_GEBRBYNLMC; the Google Ads tags set _gcl_au, and _gcl_aw after a click on one of our ads; the Meta pixels set _fbp, and _fbc after a click on a Facebook or Instagram ad.

Google, Meta and YouTube

These start once a page has shown its first picture, or at your first tap or key press, and at once on the thank-you page.

  • Google Analytics (G-GEBRBYNLMC) gives us a second count of visits, beside our own. It tells Google which pages you look at, how you got here, your device and browser and roughly where you are, and hears when someone taps the phone number or reaches the thank-you page after sending the form, never what the form said.
  • Google Tag Manager (GTM-M78S6ZCX) runs the tags for our Google Ads (AW-11419105014). They tell Google Ads when someone taps the phone number or reaches the thank-you page, so it can be credited to an ad click. If you came from one of our Google ads, the phone number on the page can change to a Google forwarding number. A call to it rings us through Google, which tells Google Ads that the call was made, when, how long it lasted and the caller’s area code.
  • Two Meta pixels tell Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram, which pages you view, and one of them counts a visit to the thank-you page as a request, so Meta can measure our ads.
  • YouTube: on a computer, the home page, Commercial and Commercial Roofing load their videos from YouTube as soon as the page has loaded and play them silently; on a phone, a video loads only if you tap it. They come from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode, and YouTube, which is Google’s, sees your IP address when it sends one.

Each company handles what it gets under its own policy: Google’s privacy policy, How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services and Meta’s privacy policy. Google’s opt-out add-on turns off Google Analytics, My Ad Center and your Facebook ad preferences control the ads you’re shown, and blocking this site’s cookies limits all of them; the site still works.

Who else is involved

Cloudflare runs the site, its database and the form’s email, and like any host it sees your IP address when it sends you a page. It also adds a small script of its own to each page, Cloudflare Web Analytics, which reports how quickly the page loaded, and which page it was, back to Cloudflare; it sets no cookies. The contact page shows our office on Google Maps, embedded in the page; the map loads from Google as you scroll to it, so Google sees your IP address then. The typefaces and pictures are served from this site itself.
